Our People

At Alexander Grace we value the people that we employ a great deal, and have invested in their development to ensure we give the service our clients deserve. The adviser has a dedicated 'Client Manager' who will have detailed knowledge of the adviser's clients and be on the end of the phone to help clients with any query. In addition we have structured roles for our other staff with specific duties to support the business and our clients' needs.


Neil Padget

CEO Alexander Grace Limited
Non-Executive Director – Independent Wealth Planners (IWP)

As a founder of Alexander Grace Limited with Rob King, back in 2000 he has been advising clients of the firm on Pensions, Retirement Options, Tax Planning, Estate Planning and investment. He fiercely defends our ‘Independent’ Status and following the investment from IWP in our firm in 2019 is now driving growth to ensure we can maintain and improve our services to our life blood – clients.

Neil started in Financial services in 1979 aged 17 with Sun Life Assurance and began advising in 1985 as an independent adviser for a number of banks. He remains an adviser, planning financial futures for clients and is doing this more so with the assistance of our other lovely advisers for whom Alexander Grace is a wonderful opportunity.

If asked, he will tell you that he is a passionately a ‘Servant Leader’ which means that all our team are treated with respect in an encouraging and fun environment as after all it is the people that work for us that ultimately help our clients to achieve their ambitions. Essentially, caring about people ensures the best possible results and we get that at Alexander Grace.

We look to acquire other firms to join us and Neil will, with his team ensure that we deliver on our promises to the proprietors/advisers in those firms, to make the journey work for them and to give great results to these firms advisers in the future too.

Family is the driver for Neil with grown up Children and Grandchildren, he loves Aston Villa but secretly supports 2 other teams as usually one wins. Also he plays Hockey at a local club (badly) and enjoys the odd cruise!


Rob King

Executive Director – Alexander Grace Limited
Non-Executive Director – Independent Wealth Planners (IWP)

Rob became a Financial Planner in 1998 having previously held management positions in small business banking. Rob is a founder of Alexander Grace and over the last twenty years has helped many clients position themselves financially for their future.

He is a highly qualified planner who is passionate that clients have straightforward financial planning ensuring a happy and secure financial future. To do this he is an expert on how tax effects the planning and ensuring our clients get the outcome they desire, but also achieves returns on their investments and pensions to outstrip inflation in the medium to long term as a key driver to their success. Rob is the Chairman of the ‘Investment Committee’ which analyses in detail the investments the firm recommends. He advises clients all around the Midlands but his main concentration is North of Birmingham.

Rob is an analytical person who understand business deals, and is critical in formulating the arrangements to help any other firm who wish to join Alexander Grace.

Rob is married with three grown up children and enjoys sport. His interests include DIY and spending time with his family.


Hilary Frost

Hilary has been with for Alexander Grace since 2008 and has over 30 years’ experience in financial services administration. She is a committed and long standing member of the team and holds the Financial Planning Certificate. Prior to the involvement of IWP Hilary was dedicated to Neil Padget’s clients dealing with all administrative and paraplanning tasks; she now has the role of Office Manager where her focus is on the smooth running of the office and the welfare of the team. If you ask her, she will tell you that our business is a pleasure to work in and the whole of her team are focused on great outcomes for our clients.

Outside work Hilary has two grown up daughters and lives with her partner and dog in Bournville - (Yes, she is a chocolatier on the quiet). She enjoys cooking up a feast for family and friends, going on holiday and a good old pub quiz.


Laura Merriman

Laura has over 10 years’ experience in financial services, joining the team in 2015 and until recently she looked after Rob King’s clients. Following the exciting expansion of the company, Laura’s role is now that of Client Services Manager where she uses her extensive knowledge and organisational skills to manage the day to day duties and ongoing training of our expanding client management team. Establishing client relationships, supporting clients through their journey and ensuring the client management team shares this ethos is very important to her.

We are lucky to have Laura running this team supporting the advisory work we do in a seamless manner. She has great respect in the team and keeps the engine running with no little dexterity.

Outside work Laura likes all sorts of sport – football, boxing and tennis to name a few and is an Aston Villa supporter. She also enjoys gardening, cooking and the guilty pleasure of a good Netflix binge watch!


Prav Mistry

Prav is our Operations Manager (and much more), he has been with Alexander Grace since 2014. He joined us from Aviva where he worked for 10 years, holding various senior positions within the sales support team as well as account manager. Just like any other business, the back office and operations of a firm are a crucial part of growing a successful business as is delivering on the promise of great customer outcomes.

Prav is kept very busy keeping ahead of new technologies, constantly changing legislation and compliance and enjoys assisting in all roles within our business. He believes no problem is insurmountable both at home and work and we are very lucky to have him in the team.


Angela Ryan

Angela has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry and has always taken a holistic approach in her advice to clients. This includes retirement planning, investments, protection, and Inheritance Tax mitigation. She has 2 daughters, one of whom lives in Spain (where Angela lived for 9 years) and the other is currently living in Saudi Arabia but has her home in the USA. Angela became a proud grandmother in January 2022. Angela enjoys the great outdoors, running, salsa dancing, badminton, and all types of craft and upcycling projects. She has even been known to do a little DIY and is pretty handy with a power tool!


Ashleigh Jones

Ashleigh joined us in 2021 as Client Manager having previously worked in pension administration for three years. She is currently studying for the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

When not at work Ash plays football in a local 5-a-side league (in goal; running is the enemy), she enjoys going camping and watching films.


Dan Hopkins

Dan joined us in 2021 as a Client Manager and has three years’ experience in the industry. He graduated from Aberystwyth University with a degree in English Literature in 2015. Dan takes pride in providing the best possible service to our clients and he is looking forward to continuing to learn and grow with the company.

When not at work, Dan is usually catching up with friends in person and online and will always find a way to talk their ear off about football or the television.


Dan Johnson

Daniel joined us as a Client Manager in August 2021 having previously working in similar roles for 2 years. He graduated from the Open University with a Masters in Finance and also from the University of Bristol with a degree in Physics; he is intending to study for his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning soon. Daniel enjoys working closely with advisers and their clients, helping to produce strategies that are tailored to meet the needs of each individual.

Daniel was married in July 2021 and enjoys spending time with his new wife and their cocker spaniel Alfie. He plays golf most weekends, is a keen musician and enjoys watching as much football as possible – at least when he is allowed!

David Williams

David joined as Alexander Grace as the company’s Investment Manager in 2021, having previously gained investment experience as an analyst at a Midlands-based discretionary portfolio management and research consultancy provider. His background also includes 4 years at an Independent Financial Advice firm where he was a member of the investment committee and had a key role in the operational management of their investment proposition. 

David’s day to day role includes the management of the Alexander Grace Risk Graded and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) portfolios and supporting financial advisers with bespoke fund selection.

David is a big football fan and is a season ticket holder at Aston Villa and is a member of the England Supporters Travel Club.


Debbie Kelly

Debbie has been with Alexander Grace for almost 20 years and is a valued member of the team. She has over 34 years’ experience in Financial Services and provides administrative support and reception/telephone duties on a part time basis.

She is married with three grown up daughters and enjoys spending time with family and friends and planning and taking holidays.


Didi Parker

Didi has worked at Alexander Grace since October 2019 having previously worked in a school for nine years. Prior to that she worked as a financial planner for Aviva for many years. Didi is Personal Assistant to our CEO and is critical to the functioning of the Management team. Her organisation is second to none and when Didi calls we all listen!

In her spare time, Didi loves to bake – regularly filling us all up with her delicious treats, going on long walks in the country and making trips to the cinema.


George Fountain

George is a holistic Financial Planner who originally joined us as a Client Manager in 2020 and has since achieved the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and moved into a financial planning role. He previously graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Finance & Accounting and is now working towards Chartered Financial Planner status. He takes a pragmatic approach to financial planning, enjoys simplifying complex areas for clients and is a firm believer in using Lifetime CashFlow forecasting for clients to project their financial position in the future. He is passionate about helping clients work towards their personal and financial goals and establish new ones over time.

Outside of work George enjoys playing tennis for Bromsgrove and follows many sports including football, tennis and American football. He enjoys walking with his dog Harvey, a Welsh Terrier.


Lee Quinn

Lee joined us as a Financial Planner in July 2022, having been advising clients for 6 years and working in financial services for 15 years. Lee likes to take a holistic approach to financial planning, looking at all areas of financial advice and ensuring that he can do the best for his clients. Lee strongly values the independent proposition that Alexander Grace offer their clients and feels that it will always work in the best interest of his clients.

Lee is a family man outside of work, with his partner of 11 years, Angela and their young son as well as two Jack Russell Terriers to keep him on his toes. Lee is also excited to be expecting another son in November 2022 just to make sure he is busy enough. In his spare time, football is Lee’s main passion, playing 11aside in a local league as well as 6aside with friends. He is a Manchester United fan, in his own words, “for his sins”.


Jamie Donald

Jamie is a Certified and Chartered Financial Planner with over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He is regularly quoted in the trade press and is passionate about raising the standards and public perception of the financial planning community.

He is completely focused on helping other business owners protect and preserve what they have worked so hard to build up and having gone through his own succession planning to protect and grow the wealth of his family, he completely understands the importance of having peace of mind.

Outside work when he is not looking after his son, he can usually be found following the unpredictable fortunes of his beloved football team.


Jo Shaw

Jo joined us as Financial Services Administrator in 2021. Her role is very varied with no day ever being the same. She is passionate about providing first class customer service both face to face and over the telephone.

She is married with two daughters, a dog and a cat. Jo enjoys a G&T and spending time with family and friends.


Josef (Joe) Nero

Joe is a fully qualified and experienced financial planner and has advised individuals and companies for over 10 years. His purpose is to help clients make smart financial decisions about their pensions and investments. His area of expertise lies in building comprehensive financial plans and recommending strategies for investment and pre and post retirement planning. With regular reviews and clear, proactive communication Josef’s clients value that their investment returns are evaluated against their personal financial goals.

Joe is married with two young boys who keep him busy! He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, fishing and playing tennis. He admits to being 50% Swedish.


Karen Pizey

Karen joined the company in 2020 as an Adviser and has many years’ experience within the industry. A real pensions expert, Karen provides detailed pension analysis to clients, delivering great outcomes for their retirement. This includes presentation of cash flow planning and delving deeply into Defined Benefit and superannuation pension scheme benefits. She is studying to become an authorised Pension Transfer Specialist so she can directly advise on the potential for Defined Benefit Transfers.

Her clients find her ‘family’ approach to planning a specialty with the ability to ensure that they understand what it takes to achieve their goals and ambitions.

Outside the office, Karen enjoys spending time with her family, her dogs and other animals.


Katie Cox

Katie has recently joined Alexander Grace as one of our Client Managers. She has over 5 years’ experience in Financial Services and enjoys working with the Advisers to help them provide the best possible service to their clients.

In her spare time, Katie loves nothing more than spending time with her family and baking for her friends and colleagues.


Kelsie Dumbleton

Kelsie joined Alexander Grace as a Client Manager in April 2021, having previously worked at a large financial advisers for four years. She plans to start studying for her financial exams soon.

When at home, Kelsie enjoys spending time with her family and going on long walks with her dogs.


Lauren Carroll

Lauren joined us as Client Manager in January 2021 having previously worked in Corporate Pensions for five years. Prior to that she graduated from university in 2014 with a degree in History. She has plans to study for the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning shortly.

Outside work, Lauren is kept busy babysitting her nieces and nephews, and enjoys watching documentaries, reading and dog walks.


Luke Padget

Luke joined us as Client Manager in March 2021 having previously worked in an account management role for a national distribution company. Prior to that he graduated from Birmingham City University with a degree in Business Management and has recently started studying for the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. Luke enjoys the challenges Alexander Grace brings and the constant learning opportunities.

Outside work Luke is a keen Aston Villa supporter and plays competitive hockey twice a week.


Matt Padget

Matt has worked at Alexander Grace for five years since graduating from Aston University with a Degree in Business Management. Initially Matt was responsible for the completion of client reviews where his knowledge and experience is invaluable but following the expansion of Alexander Grace, Matt is now a Client Manager and is working towards his Diploma in Financial Planning.

In our business, Matt is the ‘go to’ for our administrative team with a high level of understanding of products and providers. He supports our operations manager too.

Outside the office, Matt is an Aston Villa season ticket holder and enjoys various sports.


Moreen Holmes

Moreen is a Client Manager who joined us in July 2021. She has many years’ experience within financial services and loves learning new skills and taking on broad new challenges.

Moreen is an avid Wolves fan and can be heard for miles cheering her team on. She enjoys socialising, gym classes and generally having fun.


Phil Bishop

Having established Bishop Armstrong in 2009, Phil joined us in 2020. He is very well known in the Financial Planning family having had extensive experience in our profession. His decision to join us was based on Alexander Grace’s strong local brand, but also on the vision of our parent company IWP, and its passion to promote truly ‘independent’ financial advice. He continues to provide valuable services for clients with complex planning and investment expertise.

We are delighted to have Phil as part of the team and to be able to draw on his significant experience and skills in tax and retirement planning, estate management, and risk based investing. He is very well respected by his clients.


Ryan O’Driscoll

Ryan has worked in the Financial Planning industry for over 5 years since graduating from university with a degree in Business Management and Accounting. During this time Ryan has expanded his knowledge, gaining valuable experience in all areas of financial planning including investment solutions and complex pension transfers. Ryan has attained his Diploma in Financial Planning and since joining Alexander Grace in 2020 is aiming to reach Chartered level. We are supporting his desire to advise clients and be the ‘next generation’.

Outside work Ryan enjoys attending live music events and keeping fit with football, boxing, golf and the gym.

Sarah Warren

Sarah joined us as Client Manager in 2020 and has over 15 years’ experience in Financial Services. She completes detailed tasks and reports, and enjoys working closely with the advisers to provide the best outcome for our clients.

Sarah is also a semi professional musician and outside work enjoys spending time with family, friends and her pets.


Tony Friel

Tony holds the Diploma in Financial Planning and has worked in financial services for just under 40 years in a variety of roles relating to pension, investments, protection, banking and private medical insurance. As a valued member of the team Tony ensures that everything in the business runs smoothly and this is particularly important as the business expands and our customer base grows. He particularly supports the CEO in our adviser recruitment and the integration of firms joining us.

Tony is married with grown up children and, at the last count, has 8 grandchildren. Outside work Tony loves a wide variety of music and actively follows Aston Villa and the Ireland rugby team.


Tony O’Driscoll

Tony is a Chartered Lifestyle Financial Planner and has been advising business owners, trustees, professional and private clients for over 30 years. The principal objectives of a Lifestyle Financial Planner is to help clients identify, achieve and maintain their desired lifestyle, preferably in a tax efficient way involving a combination of tax planning, investment planning and cash flow management.

He has a mature approach, with plenty of all round experience. Having run his own business for well over 14 years, he understands the challenges faced by clients and has a keen eye on tax efficient extraction for Owner/Directors. Tony is a family man, married with three grown up children who have all been through University. He likes to keep himself fit through regular exercise.

We value the experience and expertise that Tony brings to Alexander Grace, highly qualified his clients get a real sense of understanding of their circumstances.


David Archer

David is a Senior Financial Planner with Alexander Grace.

Prior to joining Alexander Grace David has run his own Consultancy business and was a Partner with an adviser firm based in the South of the UK.

David has worked in the Financial Services industry for over 28 years and offers an enviable wealth of experience advising clients in the management of their financial affairs.

Starting his career in London with Standard Life David has worked in London, Leeds, Birmingham and Nottingham as well as the Channel Islands.

David has worked with leading Financial Institutions, where he has headed the Pensions Department and a Director and Board member of a Financial Services company for a top 10 Accountancy Firm.

David enjoyed a career within Private Banking with Kleinwort Benson Private Bank and Barclays before becoming a founder of his own company.

David has extensive knowledge and personal experience across all aspects of Wealth Management and financial planning. His experience and qualifications within the industry has enabled David to deal personally with both Individual and corporate clients and be respected as a valuable premier within the industry.

David is a Chartered Wealth Manager and Fellow member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Tracy Cass

Having been advising clients for many years, Tracy also ran his own business highly successfully. He has been ensuring great client outcomes since starting ‘Bowbrook Investments’ who are now part of the Alexander Grace Group. He has experience with Corporate and individual clients, where his expertise in ‘Retirement Counselling’ has been very successful, helping people organise and ultimately achieve a happy retirement.

He specialises in building risk based portfolios for his clients which have resulted in excellent returns and we are fortunate to have this level of expertise as part of the team.

Being part of Alexander Grace secures the future of Tracy’s clients and provides a ‘local’ feel for them, but with the resources needed to give the outcomes he wants them to have.



Our Approach

Our initial meeting is at our expense after which we provide in writing a full explanation of costs. We do nothing until we have a thorough understanding of our client's requirements.

With that knowledge, we can identify the products that will enable our clients to achieve their goals delivered by an entirely personal service. We then prepare and analyse recommendations, assessing benefits against cost.

Our final proposals are well-researched and constructed on the basis of what's best for our clients and nobody else. And of course, we are prepared to work alongside our client's accountants and solicitors.

We firmly believe in the importance of working together to build rewarding relationships and working closely with our clients enables us to help them fulfil and achieve their objectives.
